Honey is not amused. She would rather spend her time under the guest bed than play with C & G. But, when they leave she is always bored and looking for them. Diva dog all the way!
This morning we went walking the neighborhood. Handling three dogs, not tripping over them, and collecting the poop is pretty akin to a circus act. If I stop to chat with neighbors, I find myself wrapped up in the leashes. Dogs keep us humble - especially when the neighbors are bent over with giggles.
Picking up the poop reminded me of how God is OUR pooper scooper. At least, I like to think so.
Psalms 139:5 Thou has beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Honey however, is a Momma's girl.
Honey has turned into a good
companion. Still stubborn and demanding!
It
struck me how much God loves us and sees us so differently than we see
ourselves. Even before we give our lives
to Him – and afterwards when we still mess up and rebel – He sees us through the blood
of Jesus (clean and righteous). And so
it was with Honey the day we met. She
was pitiful, shaking, wet, and smelly.
But, deep down I saw the pet she is now – healthy, happy, and clean (at
least for awhile after grooming).
And
I have to hope that God overlooks my dry spells when I tend to ignore Him
the
same way I overlook Honey’s oft time ignoring me when she would rather be
in
her little den under the big bed.
I'm enjoying our little visitors (even if Honey isn't).
So let's be responsible pet owners and scoop that poop!
